ROG (Republic of Gamers) is Asus's premium gaming line, with high-refresh screens and top-end graphics. Overheating and fan noise are the most common reasons it comes in.
Common ROG repairs
- Overheating and fan noise
- Screen
- GPU faults
- Charging
Keyboard and touchpad
Sticky, dead or repeating keys and an unresponsive touchpad are common after spills or heavy use. On the Asus ROG Strix G16 we replace the keyboard or touchpad, and check the ribbon cables at the same time.
Charging and USB-C ports
If the Asus ROG Strix G16 only charges at a certain angle, or not at all, the charging port or the power circuit behind it is usually the cause. We replace worn ports and test the charging circuit so the problem doesn't come back.
Hinges and casing
A loose or cracked hinge puts strain on the screen cable and casing. We repair hinge mounts and replace damaged hinges on the Asus ROG Strix G16 before the damage spreads to the display.
