Battery and power
Original Sony batteries for the Vaio VGN-SR4 are no longer made, so we fit good-quality compatible batteries where you want the laptop to run unplugged. If it won't charge at all, the DC jack or the charging circuit on the motherboard is often the cause, and both can be repaired.
Windows and security
Windows 10 stopped receiving free security updates in October 2025, and older Vaios like the Vaio VGN-SR4 don't meet Windows 11's official requirements. For offline use, a clean reinstall and SSD keep it useful; for banking and email we'll talk you through safer options.
