Vostro is Dell's small-business laptop line: practical, affordable and easy to work on, with standard SSDs and replaceable batteries on most models.
Common Vostro repairs
- Hard drive / SSD replacement
- DC jack and charging
- Keyboard
- Screen and hinges
Screen replacement
Cracked glass, lines across the picture or a black screen with sound still working: we replace the display panel on the Dell Vostro 1520 and test it fully before handing it back. If the fault is the display cable or backlight, we fix that instead of fitting a whole new screen.
Overheating and fan noise
A Dell Vostro 1520 that runs hot, throttles or shuts down under load usually needs a deep clean, new thermal paste and, sometimes, a replacement fan. It's a quick job that restores performance and protects the motherboard.
Won't turn on: board-level repair
No lights, no fans, nothing: on the Dell Vostro 1520, this is often a single failed component on the motherboard. We diagnose power faults at component level and repair the board rather than replacing it, which is usually much cheaper.

Questions
How much does a Dell Vostro 1520 repair cost?
Prices vary with the part needed. You'll get an exact quote after we've looked at it; the diagnostic itself is free.
How long will it take?
Our normal turnaround is 24–48 hours, and often same day if we have the part. We'll give you a time when we quote.
Will I lose my files?
We never wipe or reinstall without asking. If the drive is involved, we back up or recover your files first.
Is the repair guaranteed?
Yes. All repairs come with a 90-day warranty. Liquid-damage repairs are excluded, except for any new parts we fit, which are covered for 90 days.
